Classic City Stages is an independent magazine about theatre and the stage in Athens, Georgia. It covers the halls and theatres that stage live shows, the companies that play them, the craft of the people who make a production work, and how theatre is taught to the young. The site is organised into four sections: Stages, Companies, Craft, and Learning.

Every article is written in the third person. No company, venue, or school is ever the voice of the site, and none is addressed as we. The editorial team writes about organisations, not on their behalf. Texts are based on public sources, and those sources are named in each article so you can check them. The site does not invent facts, people, addresses, phone numbers, registration numbers, or dates. Where information is missing or unclear, the article says so.

The magazine is for residents of Athens and northeast Georgia, families looking for a show or a class for their children, high-school and university students, teachers, and volunteers in local arts organisations. You can use the site to find out what is playing, who is behind a production, how a set is built, or where a young person can start training.
